PUNKS: Finally wrapped up the art on the Christacular Special! Along the way our page count got bumped up from the original solicitation, so we added some new gems for the same great price. The comic really is is jam packed! This issue is a blast, you'll love it. I've included one of the unseen pages from the new book to the right.
Unfortunately, many shops don't order independent books, so please, if you want the book you should really print this handy PDF file and drop it at your local comic book shop. You can also order the Summer Comic Special from that same order form.
PUNKS Christacular Special #1 is listed on page 284 in the current catalog. The order code is: OCT07 3468.

BEHIND THE SCENES: Hard at work on Wight and Associates pages for Spacedog via Rob Levin now that Punks is wrapped up, and I'm currently writing a few new things myself. These projects are set for late 2008, but progress is being made and I'm really working hard to make these stories great. The photo above shows my index card outline for one of the projects called Sweets. I have a huge cork wall next to my drawing table that I use for pouring my brain out in one cohesive place.
This is a project I started about three years ago, but ended up putting it on the back burner while trying to find ways to push my art to the next level. I just wasn't happy with the work I was doing on those early pages, and the script has really benefited from the break as well.
I do have a publisher interested in publishing the 5 issuem iniseries, and
I'll post an update as soon as I'm able.

WIZARD WORLD TEXAS IS NOVEMBER 15th (ONE WEEK AWAY!): If you in or around the Dallas/Arlington area on November 15-18th try and sneak away for a couple of days and get to this convention. It's become one of my favorites and I'm really excited about having so much new material.
I'll have the collected edition of TAG, fresh copies of PUNKS including the Limited Edition cover variant, a big stack of the Beowulf graphic novels and I'll probably have a new sketchbook worked up by then. And as always, I'll have original art and will be doing commissions throughout the weekend.

LOCAL NEWS: I host a local arts event called Grinder: Creative Arts Expo here in Lafayette, Louisiana. I describe it as a gathering of creative individuals in an effort to inform, educate and inspire the creative spirit. We've got a show tomorrow (Nov 10) and I'd like to invite anyone in and around Lafayette to attend.
The show features live art on stage, music, drinks, and an expo style marketplace featuring all sorts of creative goods like comics, t-shirts, jewelry, fashion, posters, etc. You're sure to have a great time. It starts early at 8pm and it's a smoke free event.
Grinder is held every four months at Grant Street Dancehall in Downtown Lafayette. It always falls on the second Saturday of that month which lines up with the Downtown Art Walk. The next Grinder will be held on March 8, 2008 at 8pm, mark your calendar today!
